Dr. Ethel J. Hasty

Dr. Ethel J. Hasty is an experienced educator with more than thirty-five years of instructional leadership experience. She has demonstrated an exemplary record of leadership, innovation, and academic services to both public and higher educational settings. During her tenure as an educator, Dr. Ethel J. Hasty served as a high school English teacher, a Supervisor of Language Arts, Vice Principal, High School Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, and Superintendent of Schools (Pre-K to Grade 12). Her entire career has been dedicated to the improvement of academic achievement and her efforts have not gone unnoticed, as she is the recipient of many awards, honors, and certificates. Among these are a myriad of listings in many “Who’s Who” editions including The World’s Who’s Who of Women, Who’s Who of Female Executives, Who’s Who of American Women, 2000 Most Notable Women, and Who’s Who in New Jersey. Most notable was a public acknowledgement from Oxford University officials for her accomplishments as a New Jersey educator, which occurred during her participation at the Oxford University Roundtable, St Anne’s College, Oxford England in 2002.

Dr. Ethel J. Hasty earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from Livingstone College, a Master of Arts degree in Secondary School Administration from Glassboro State College now known as Rowan University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Walden University. She also has continuing educational credits from Harvard University and University of Notre Dame. In like manner, she has earned leadership certificates from her participation in professional development at Princeton University and St Anne’s College Oxford University. Further, she has served as a presenter at numerous National Conferences, School Board conferences, School Administrator and Superintendents Forums.

The author has numerous articles and books to her credit. They include: “Professional Development for Mathematics Achievement,” (Peer reviewed article, 2010); “How Does Online Professional Development Via Skype Contribute to K-12 Administrator’s Increase Levels of Self-efficacy?” (Hasty and Kiriakidis, 2010), Journal of Elementary and Secondary Education, Volume 1, Issue 10; “How Does Skype as an Educational Tool, Contribute to School Administrator’s Self-efficacy?” (Hasty and Kiriakidis, 2010); “Beating the Odds,” Educational Executive Magazine, 2010; “The Effects of a High-Quality Teaching Professional Development Program on Fourth Grade Student Achievement,” Doctoral dissertation, 2010; “So, You Want to be the Boss? Really? Lessons Learned: A Road Map to the Top of the Educational Chain,” 2025.

Dr. Ethel J. Hasty is happily married to George L. Hasty, aka “Mr. Wonderful” and she is the mother of Laura Christal Davion-Hill, a proud Historically Black College and University graduate and a brilliant History enthusiast.
